These lasers emit a powerful beam of invisible light which passes harmlessly through the skin to the hair follicles. At the level of the hair follicle, or bulb, the laser energy is absorbed and transformed to heat which damages or destroys the hair. This is all done with minimal effect on the surrounding tissue. These removes hair with a minimum of pain, inconvenience and side effects.

Each laser pulse treats about 1/2 inch area, which can contain ten or more hairs. Thus, the laser is much faster and more effective than electrolysis.

A single treatment on the lip usually takes less than one minute; treatments of larger areas such the face, underarms, and the bikini area require about 15 minutes. Large treatments such as the arms, legs, back or chest may require one to two hours
